To pop or dismiss the view programmatically in SwiftUI, you can use use @Environment(\.presentationMode) as a variable and call wrappedValue.dismiss(). In the DetailView we have called wrappedValue.dismiss() wen the button is tapped.

struct DetailView: View {
    @Environment(\.presentationMode) var presentationMode

    var body: some View {
        Button("Tap to dismiss.") {
            presentationMode.wrappedValue.dismiss()
        }
    }
}

struct ContentView: View {
    @State private var isVisible = false

    var body: some View {
        Button("Detail view") {
            isVisible.toggle()
        }
        .sheet(isPresented: $isVisible) {
            DetailView()
        }
    }
}

You can also get the same outcome if you bind a visibility property in the DetailView instead of @Environment(\.presentationMode)

struct DetailView: View {
    @Binding var isVisible: Bool

    var body: some View {
        Button("Tap to dismiss.") {
            isVisible = false
        }
    }
}

struct ContentView: View {
    @State private var isVisible = false

    var body: some View {
        Button("Detail view") {
            isVisible.toggle()
        }
        .sheet(isPresented: $isVisible) {
            DetailView(isVisible: $isVisible)
        }
    }
}
